Victoria, BC
On-site
The Company
Our client is an established BC-based retail business with a strong reputation for quality, authenticity, and customer care. With multiple showroom locations, a loyal customer base, and a product offering centered around well-designed, durable home furnishings & decor, the business has built its brand around a refreshingly human approach to retail - one that prioritizes trust, relationships, and helping customers create homes they genuinely love.
As the business continues to grow across retail, online, and warehousing operations, this role offers the opportunity to step into a leadership position where your impact is visible every day - on the team, the customer experience, and the overall performance of the store.
The Opportunity
This is a role for someone who wants to do more than manage a showroom. As Store Manager, you’ll act as the operational and cultural anchor of the location - creating an environment where customers feel welcomed, staff feel supported, and the business runs with clarity, consistency, and heart.
You’ll lead the team, drive sales performance, elevate the customer experience, and ensure the showroom reflects the warmth and quality of the brand. Beyond daily operations, this role also plays an important part in growing the store’s local footprint through partnerships, events, and community relationship-building. It’s an ideal opportunity for a hands-on retail leader who loves coaching people, building customer relationships, and bringing structure and energy to a fast-moving environment.

Team Leadership & Customer Experience
Lead, coach, and develop store staff across hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management
Build a warm, collaborative, high-performing team culture rooted in service, accountability, and professionalism
Drive a consistently strong customer experience across all touchpoints, from initial engagement through after-sales support and issue resolution
Create a showroom environment where customers feel welcomed, heard, and confident in their purchase decisions
Sales Performance & Community Growth
Drive store sales and profitability by setting clear targets, monitoring performance, and executing promotional initiatives
Use customer insights and sales data to improve conversion, productivity, and overall store performance
Help grow the store’s community presence through local partnerships, events, and relationship-building initiatives
Work cross-functionally with marketing and leadership to support promotions, local awareness, and business development opportunities
Operations, Merchandising & Inventory
Oversee daily showroom operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, security, and policy compliance
Maintain a clean, organized, visually compelling showroom that reflects the brand and supports sales
Execute merchandising updates, seasonal refreshes, and product placement changes with a strong eye for both aesthetics and performance
Manage inventory accuracy, stock movement, receiving, and coordination with suppliers, purchasing, and warehouse teams
What You Bring
3–7+ years of retail leadership, sales management, or showroom management experience, ideally in a customer-focused retail environment
Proven ability to hire, coach, motivate, and retain a strong retail team
Strong sales acumen, with experience setting targets and driving revenue growth
Confidence handling customer service issues, conflict resolution, and after-sales support
Experience with inventory management, ordering, stock control, and day-to-day retail operations
Proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and basic reporting platforms
A warm, authentic, people-first leadership style paired with strong operational discipline and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience planning events, building partnerships, or supporting community-based marketing initiatives is considered an asset.
Why This Role
This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role where your impact is immediate and visible - not just on store performance, but on the energy of the team, the customer experience, and the broader presence of the business in the local market.
You’ll join a well-established, independently owned Canadian brand with a strong reputation, a loyal customer base, and a culture that values honesty, connection, and long-term relationships. For the right leader, it offers the chance to run a showroom with real ownership, contribute to a growing business, and build a meaningful career in a company that still feels human.

Outlier's Process
1
Apply
Submit your application through our online portal. A real human reviews every resume - no automated AI filtering here. We assess your experience, background, and alignment with current opportunities. If there’s a strong match, we’ll be in touch with next steps. If not, we keep your profile on file for future roles that may be a better fit. Depending on the scope of the search, Outlier may continue to manage the process end-to-end, or the client may take the lead directly from this point forward. In either case, we ensure a clear handoff and will let you know exactly what to expect next.
2
Outlier Interview
If your background aligns with what our client is looking for, we’ll schedule a live interview. This 30–45 minute conversation is designed to go beyond your resume. We’ll dig into your skills and experience, but more importantly, we want to hear your story - what motivates you, what you’re looking for next, and what makes you stand out. We also use this conversation to discuss compensation expectations upfront, ensuring alignment early and avoiding surprises later in the process.
3
Candidate Submission
Once we’ve met and confirmed alignment, shortlisted candidates are presented to our client. If selected to move forward, you’ll be asked to complete a short (10–15 minute) online assessment. This helps the client better understand your values, motivation, and work style, and supports a more thoughtful, well-rounded hiring decision.
4
Client Interviews and Beyond
Once candidates move forward, our clients review a well-rounded view of your profile — including your experience, our interview perspective, and assessment insights. From there, they identify who they’d like to meet directly. We act as an advocate and connector throughout, ensuring your strengths are clearly represented and that you’re supported with preparation, context, and timely feedback at every step. For finalist candidates, we further manage background checks, facilitate offers, and support on-boarding, providing support and acting as your coach right until the end.
