GIVING BACK

Standing Out for Good

For every successful hire, we give back to the community by donating to local charities.

We believe businesses have a responsibility beyond profit. Hiring shapes livelihoods, families, and communities — and with that impact comes an opportunity to give back.

For every successful hire, we donate to local charities because we believe strong businesses should help build stronger communities. It's our way of ensuring that growth isn't just measured in revenue, but in positive, lasting impact.

In 2026, we look forward to working with The Potluck Society, Downtown Eastside Women's Centre, Backpack Buddies and the BCSPCA.

The Potluck Cafe Society

Potluck Café Society is a Vancouver-based social enterprise and one of the city's longest-standing charities, celebrating 25 years of service in the Downtown Eastside. Potluck operates with a dual model: a registered charity that delivers vital community meal programs and social supports, and Potluck Catering, a mission-driven business that employs 46 people - many of whom once relied on those same programs. Catering revenues are reinvested directly into community services, creating a powerful cycle of dignity, employment, and care.

Potluck is deeply committed to inclusive employment, providing living-wage jobs in a supportive, accommodating environment for individuals facing barriers related to past addiction, mental health challenges, or housing insecurity. With a workforce that includes Indigenous leadership and employees, Potluck doesn't just serve the DTES - it is part of it, helping people move from survival to stability and, in many cases, to a future where they are giving back to the very community that once supported them.

Downtown Eastside Women's Centre

The Downtown Eastside Women's Centre (DEWC) is a safe, inclusive space dedicated to supporting women and gender-diverse people in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. DEWC provides essential services including nutritious meals, drop-in support, advocacy, housing assistance, and pathways to education and employment. Grounded in dignity, respect, and trauma-informed care, the centre meets people where they are - offering stability, community, and hope in the face of systemic barriers. Its work is rooted in the belief that when women are supported, entire communities are strengthened.

Backpack Buddies

Backpack Buddies is a Canadian nonprofit dedicated to ensuring children have access to nutritious food outside of school hours. By discreetly providing weekend food packs to children experiencing food insecurity, Backpack Buddies helps remove barriers to learning, wellbeing, and dignity. Their work supports not just individual children, but families and communities - because when kids are nourished, they're better able to learn, grow, and thrive.

BC SPCA

BC SPCA is one of British Columbia's most trusted animal welfare organizations, working to protect and improve the lives of animals across the province. Through rescue, sheltering, advocacy, and education, the BC SPCA provides care for animals in need while promoting responsible pet guardianship and humane treatment. Their work reflects a belief we share deeply: that compassion, care, and responsibility should extend to all living beings.
