WHO WE ARE
Outlier is a modern talent partner built to help growth-minded companies improve not just who they hire - but how they hire. We work primarily across food, beverage, hospitality, and consumer brands, partnering with teams that value clarity, pace, and long-term fit over transactional recruiting.
We were built on a simple belief: hiring should feel aligned, human, and genuinely valuable - not opaque, cost-prohibitive, or rushed. Traditional recruiting models often reward volume over intention and speed over fit. Outlier exists to offer a more thoughtful approach.
Our work is grounded in transparency and mutual accountability. From flexible service models and value-driven pricing to an elevated candidate experience supported by clear communication and strong feedback loops, everything we do is designed to create better outcomes, for clients and candidates alike.
We partner best with teams who are ready to hire with intention and understand that how you hire is a reflection of who you are. Traditional recruitment is reactive and built around selling placements. Outlier’s consultative approach helps organizations strengthen their hiring process, elevate their employer brand, and compete more effectively
for exceptional talent.
OUR MISSION
Meeting The Evolving Needs of Modern Organizations
Authenticity
We lean away from posturing, performing and pretense. We lean into truth, vulnerability and keeping it real.
Empathy
We see people first, not positions or commission cheques.
Integrity
Forever guided by the ancient philosophy of karma, we do the right thing, even when no one’s watching.
Transparency
We build trust by being clear and honest from the get-go about fees, process and everything in between.
OUR VISION
Recruitment, Reimagined
Outlier’s vision is to redefine recruitment through modern, value-driven solutions while evolving into a trusted people advisory partner that strengthens hiring systems and builds kinder, healthier organizations.
A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
With over 25 years of experience across the consumer products and hospitality industries - spanning service, frontline sales, leadership, and strategic recruiting - my career has been shaped by one core belief: the right people don’t just fill roles, they transform businesses. I’ve seen firsthand how thoughtful hiring can elevate teams, culture, and outcomes - and how misaligned hiring can quietly undo even the best intentions.
At my core, I’m a relationship builder. I am heart-centered and care deeply about people, alignment, and helping individuals find opportunities that genuinely light them up. I bring a consultative, values-led approach to every search, prioritizing long-term fit, cultural alignment, and mutual success - not just a placement. That ethos is the foundation of Outlier: helping companies stand out by finding talent that makes them exceptional, and helping professionals build careers they’re proud of.
Before launching Outlier, I spent six years as a senior agency recruitment consultant, partnering with companies to make critical hires across consumer-driven and experiential industries. While I loved the work, I became increasingly aware of what was missing in traditional recruiting models: transparency, flexibility, and a truly human experience for both clients and candidates. Outlier was born from a desire to do this work differently - with intention, empathy, and value at the center.

Outside of work, I’m a lifelong learner with a deep interest in the future of work, work–life balance, mindfulness, gender equality & DEI, sustainability, and Indigenous reconciliation. These interests - along with my core values of integrity, authenticity, empathy, and transparency - shape how I show up as a human, partner, recruiter, and business owner. I believe how we work matters just as much as what we achieve, and that kindness and empathy are competitive advantages.
With a background in dance and fitness, when I’m not working, there’s a good chance I am outdoors and/or moving my body! You can usually find me on a spin bike, in a Pilates or yoga class, walking the seawall with my mini Sheepadoodle, Jack Sparrow (yes, that’s really his name), on a wake surf board at Shuswap Lake, exploring the trails of the Gulf Islands, or touring my beautiful home province of British Columbia, Canada.
