The Opportunity
This is a role for a culinary professional who wants to do more than run a station—it’s about becoming a trusted leader during service.
As Sous Chef, you’ll support the Chef de Cuisine in leading daily kitchen operations, developing junior employees and delivering consistent, high-quality execution. You’ll work actively alongside the team, helping create a kitchen that is organized, accountable and ready to perform.
Beyond day-to-day service, you’ll gain exposure to menu development, inventory, food cost and labour management, with the potential to contribute to an upcoming restaurant opening.

What You’ll Own
Provide visible, hands-on leadership during preparation and service across multiple kitchen stations
Coach and develop cooks and junior team members through clear direction and practical feedback
Maintain consistent standards across food quality, timing, presentation, recipes and portion control
Support ordering, inventory, product rotation, scheduling and daily kitchen organization
Contribute to seasonal menu development, new dishes and continuous operational improvement
Reinforce food safety, sanitation, teamwork and professional standards throughout the kitchen
What You Bring
Experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or senior Chef de Partie in a full-service restaurant
Strong hands-on culinary ability and a solid foundation in scratch cooking and kitchen fundamentals
The ability to lead a station, support an entire service and remain calm under pressure
Experience coaching junior cooks and building confidence through patient, practical leadership
Exposure to inventory, ordering, food cost, labour management and menu development
A reliable, accountable and team-oriented approach, along with valid FoodSafe certification

Target base salary: $55,000-$62,000

Please note - the salary range for this position is structured to reflect different stages of proficiency within the role. Compensation at the lower end applies to individuals developing core competencies, while higher compensation is associated with demonstrated expertise and sustained performance. Final offers are determined by the client based on candidate experience and organizational requirements.
